Cutting windshield???

I bought a new Chrome windshield for my ZX chassis, and I was looking to cut it down. Too tall and I don't like it.

Question is: Has anyone cut down a chrome windshield? I am nervous about the chrome on the back side. Don't want to mess it up. I am gonna tape where I am gonna cut, and then put new trim on. Let me know if you have cut one and how you did it.

I imagine the chrome would be fine but.... never know.

Thanks, Doo02

We have cut chromeys down before, use a good scissor or a low speed saw, as the chrome is somewhat apt to flake. Ussaully minimal and the trim hides it. We use super glue to refasten the trim.

Thanks VOHK.

Have any pics of ZX chassis with cut shield I can look at for reference?

THanks again, Doo02

No sorry, but use masking tape to get an idea of the look.

Good Luck

Thanks VOHK for your help. Got the shield cut down and looks real good. I just taped, traced my old Cobra windshield on backside of new windshield, and cut!

Turned out just like I wanted it to.

Later.
