Yamaha Apex Opinions Wanted...

I am looking at doing some trick stuff with my Apex, not this winter, but next summer most likely...

I am pretty set on a SuperCharger, I like the thought of a ton of extra forced air boost and not so much the nitros that will burn rings... Besides, the 4-strokes seem to respond better to the charger.

What I am asking is what have you seen, tried, or any ideas other than that to trick it out for some real cool speed, handling, or anythign else? I am going to try to lighten in up a bit this year, but nothing crazy quite yet.

Let me know what you think!

Well I know that Mountain performance have a exhaust pipe that lighten's it by 10-12 lbs and give's 4 hp more and 11 dlb's, Ill be putting it on my attack gt for this winter,I've also changed the small gear in my chaine case. I went up 2 teeth, witch will give me a bit more top end,I'll be trying these mod's this coming winter, also for corner grip I'll put on a pair of snow tracker ski correctors, but a chrger would not be good for me cause all we do is trail for mile's and mile's so good luck with that. If you have any tricks for me let me know OK...

I don't know how much you plan on spending but there are a ton of things you can do but if your going to super charge or turbo charge then I would just save your money, theres nothing that will compare to the power from boost. I would look at things that will complement the boost, wider skis, longer more aggresive track. Simmons makes a 10" wide ski that will help the extra weight float and camoplast makes a 174" x 2.5 track that will help get that power to the snow. Try some graphite slides, a two wheel kit, porting your track, there is even a spark plug that is supposed to give you a few extra ponies, I can't remember what the part number is but it an NGK. Watch your RPMs when climbing you might want to look into some clutching to keep you in your power band and keep your track speed up. Money is really the only limitation on these sleds. One last thing don't spend money on an exhaust if you plan to turbo, you'll be throwing away your money, If you supercharge then you can probably reuse the exhaust. Most people when they turbo don't run a muffler because the turbo will quite the exhaust noise.
