Let's talk size

For the deep pow which do you guys prefer wider tracks or longer tracks...

Personally I think I saw better floatation with wider tracks

My new Apex Mtn. has a 162" x 16" and it's all I could ever ask for.
I put this thing in some DEEEEP stuff last year right after I bought it, and it just glides on top... really nice... (yes even with the 'so-called' heavy sled.!!)

I got a 15x121x1.375 on my 05 zr 900 and love it. you got the short track maneuverability and wide track flotation. the only time it really doesnt work well is in, deep and dry powder but the wetter or more hard packed the better. but that should be expected with a sled that was designed with racing on packed tracks in mind.

Personally I don't see why ALL mountain sleds don't have a 16" wide.
I've riden both 15's and 16's and can't really tell a difference. Just go with 2 inner wheels and she tips over a little easier.

I have to go with the Longer is better! I think the square inch thing is all BS.
Why do you think all the sled companies are going with longer tracks. You sure don't see them going wider!

Although I do think 174 is over doing it!!! 162 2.5 Camo's and 2.4 159's on all my stuff! If you run enough HP with these tracks you will never go back! They are perfect for the steep and deep! Just my 2cents!!!
