JEEP?
4.0 H.O. with 4.11's, K&N, 3" exaust, 4.5" lift.
Does the job for me.

I have been thinking about buying a jeep. What are you pulling with your jeep? 2 place, 4 place enclosed or not? Does it get squirley on ice or packed roads?

It's been an impressive tow vehicle.
here it is: http://sledtv.org/forum/attachments/...imgp0049bw.jpg
The 4.0 Engine is torquey and with a little bigger tire, gears, and mild lift, it does good in the snow. granted, it doesn't have the weight of an F-250 or Cummins, but towing a 2 place drive on/off and two sleds (Powder Extreme and Mountain Max) it does pretty good.
2 sleds and the trailer, (not sure if Sleddin'Daddy has a pic of it or not) is right close to 2000# and the Cherokee is still pulling strong even with close to 200,000 miles!

I am sure that if I really wanted or needed to, I think my Cherokee could do a 4 place but coming back down would get a little squirrelly unless I kept the speed down.

It's nice but I would rather have a big truck. Maybe after I get this divorce out of the way, I'll finally get one. For now, The XJ does nice.

Well it really is up to you on what you are looking for. First thing is finding the right truck for you and the right price. How many sleds are you looking to pull? Also is this going to be a daily driver for you. Look at gas milage. That is what I would really look at. SUV's are also good becouse you can have the same pulling as some of the trucks. Then also you can have 4-7 people and equiment and the sleds as well.
